Spasojevic Lab Research
In collaboration with graduate student, Jared Anderson-Huxley ([email protected])
I am currently (Summer 2022) working as a lab assistant in the Spasojevic lab. Our field site takes place in the San Jacinto Mountains of the UC Natural Reserve System.
We are working to resurvey the established seedling plots, install light and temperature sensors, install seed traps, and initiate cone surveys of the tagged adult conifers. We are currently investigating the possible driving factors - climate change, fire suppression, etc. - contributing to the projected species distributions. This has been the most robust field work experience I've had so far! With 10-hour days and ~3 miles of hiking (in >3,000 m elevation), I've definitely gotten better at preparation and mental acuity in the field. |
